Lily Hospice is a member of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce (CACC), the West Bloomfield-based chamber that represents and connects Chaldean American businesses and professionals across Michigan. Lily’s office on Butterfield Drive in Troy sits minutes from Sterling Heights, West Bloomfield and the other communities that are home to one of the largest Chaldean populations outside Iraq. Many of the families Lily serves are Chaldean, and the hospice has built its care around what those families have told it matters most: the whole family at the bedside, decisions made together, and faith at the center of the last months of life.

“When a Chaldean family calls us, it’s rarely one person on the phone. How Lily cares for Chaldean families

• Faith. Lily coordinates with the family’s parish priest for Communion, the Anointing of the Sick and prayer at home, and plans visits around Mass.
• Family. Nurses explain the plan to everyone who needs to hear it, not only one decision-maker, and aides of the same gender are available on request.
• Where care happens. At home or in assisted living, memory care and nursing facilities in Sterling Heights, Troy, West Bloomfield and across Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties.
• Cost. Medicare pays Lily directly and covers the care team, hospice-related medicines, equipment such as a hospital bed and oxygen, and supplies. Medicaid and most private insurance work the same way.
